Question for those with custom gas pedals

For those who have made their own version of the floor mounted pedal (Duffer, Patrick, etc..)

What type of hinge did you utilize for the floor mounted pivot?

As much as I'd like the original pedal to work with my SM465 cover, I'm not sure I'll be able to fit it all together. On top of that, the original pivot holes in the pedal are elongated and the thing rubber that actually bolts onto the mount is gone. I'm thinking custom may be the easiest thing to do.

I'm good with a roller design on the linkage end, just trying to think of a better design than a piece of piano hinge...

I'm thinking a door hinge cut down from both ends then.

I used a short piece of heavy aluminum paino hinge from McMaster-Carr

The hinge is welded to the pedal, with two 1/4" button heads securing the other half to the floor. Will try to get a pic. I'm not sure how cost effective it would be to just buy a piece of hinge for that but I already had some ends left from another project.
