So here we go. I posted some of these photos on the resto forum when asking some questions so I decided to start a thread of my project. This is a 1967 CJ5 V6 225 engine, t-86 transmission, pto winch. The Jeep was my fathers and he used it for hunting in NY. I've been working on this on and off for a couple of years, taking a lot of " financial " breaks lol. I will post what I've done a little at a time to get you caught up to where I am today.

How the Jeep looked when I got it from my father. It has a different body on it we put on from a junk yard. That was shot too.

So I won't bore you with the disassembly photos but when the body was taken off here is the damage I found to the frame

I made a redneck rotisserie to paint the frame. I used Por-15. Sprayed it with metal ready and allowed it to flash rust which is recommended. then 2 coats of Por-15 and 2 coats of Por-15 chassis coat satin black.

After the frame was complete I started on the axles. There was no major issues with them when on the road so I just checked the bearings and replaced the oils seals. Sandblasted and painted with Por-15

I had to cut one of the brake drums off with a skill saw

Front axle went pretty much the same way. I purchased new felt seal kits for the knuckles, and new king pins and king pin bearings. Will put those in after axles gets mounted to the frame.

Got to ask - how much weight did you have in the bottom of that can to support the axle so it wouldn't fall over :D

And yes - looks real nice. I hope to give that much detail to one again in the near future.

If you mean the real bench and not the garbage can :) it's laminated beams turned on there side. Put some angle iron under them to hold together. 4x4 for legs.
