I was from Grand rapids, but was in the Military and moved around, now my wife is still in the Air Force and we live in Ohio now. I remember the dunes and now that I have a CJ5, I want to travel up there again since last time I was young and couldnt drive.

Im from Michigan and remember going to Silver Lake dunes. I now have a CJ5 (66) with an odd fire v6. Looking to head up there sometime in the near future. I have 32X 11.5X15, Mud tires. you think those will do well there and what Pressure you think.

hello there. the 32" tires will be fine in the dunes so long as you air down as low as you dare. i run 5-7 psi in my '71 cj5 but i have a fiberglass body so it's really light. the only time i'm in 4wd is when i go DOWN the hills otherwise i'm in 2wd.
        where in michigan are you?
