Real long shot here, but it sounds like you did work on the carb-------did you happen to cover the intake with a rag while you had the carb off???

A rag left inside a dual plane could very well impact the running of one side of the engine.

Prestolite cap is just shorter without the window of a delco - posts are equal distance. I just took one apart to make a oil preasure spin up tool and get the vac advance for Chuck.

As I posted above - they are even spaced - that looks just like the one I took apart last Saturday.

They should be evenly spaced. The points type Delco caps are evenly spaced as well. The odd-firing occurs on the lobe that actuates the points.

I am not sure your going to find a rig with 'original' ignition parts on them any longer - I could tell the parts had been on it for a LONG time. And, as Patrick stated, the pickup is what looks like makes the ODD spark timing (like the HEI setup).

I had a Delco on my 225 and replaced it with a HEI. Much better performance, starting and gas milage. If you need it, I can take some pic's of the Delco for you.
Never had any misfire problems tho.

My 2G's used to do that semi-frequently. At idle, one bank would be dead. Pull the mixture screws, blow them out, andit'd be good to go again. Mostly went away when I got rid of the rusty gas tank.

I guess I should take back what I said about it being spark not fuel.

Hope you get to the bottom of it soon.

    Good Luck.

It's one of those that could be either - you may be a bit balder when you get it figured out as well ;)

Won't you get symptoms like this on an odd fire engine if the distributor is installed incorrectly?
Some of the lobes line up & others dont, and you wind up running on 3 cylinders or something like that?
