    you could use some steel tubing for the actual hinge tubes and some 1/8" x 2" flat stock for the lowers and some 1/8" angle for the uppers. Where I forgot to write in the dimension on the uppers it's 1/2" to the centers of the bolt holes. The graph squares are 1/4". Bloodx if you PM me your address I can make some patterns for you.

    I did get my hands on an AMC Jeep brochure for the intermediate tops. It lists the color as Champagne White. I also recently scored this NOS Meyers/Orville roof vent in the factory Jeep box complete with template for installing in a full cab or half cab!

    Heres another piece that is often missing. This filler strip helps seal the drivers door to the tub.

    Well, i was a bit worried when i was stripping the paint from the top and found the original sticker.. i took a picture of it but... what had me worried was the AMC logo. (AMC logo, Jeep, Special Equipment, manufactured by Orville Products Inc.) My worry stemmed from the fact that AMC didnt buy Jeep until the end of '74. My Jeep is a '69 Kaiser so I thought i was doomed to failure. But.... I put on the top and EVERTHING lines up the way it should... I will share pictures of my triumph...(now only if Tom's hardware fits)

    Is there an insert to bridge between the font edge of the meyers cap and the windshield. I am trying to fit a cap to my 66 CJ5, but the cap is arc'd and the shield frame is flat. Was there a weather strip/seal to bring the two together? The bolt holes match but the surfaces don't. Also, the windshield wants to rise a bit more vertical to come in alignment with the cap, which I read somewhere is normal, but I don't think the shield latches will clamp at that angle. Are there latches with adjustment for top on and top off?

    The top for my '73 bows out when its not screwed to the windshield frame. I think you'll find that it will pull in and raise in the center as it pulls in.

    Not exactly. AMC bought Jeep in 1970, so the last two years of the early CJ-5 (with an 81" wheelbase) were built under AMC corporate ownership. The changes to CJs before the 1976 model did not require any changes to the steel cabs, so as long as the cab is for a 1975 or newer, AMC or not, it will fit.

    AFAIK the top was not changed for the early pre-1969 versus later 1969 to 1975 windshield. The top profile of the windshield is the same, and only the glass shape changes. The seal between the cab and the windshield was with a bead of butyl caulk. You can get the caulk at the hardware store - the brand I buy at the HD is Moretite. It's in the weatherstripping area.

    It is typical that the gasket between the windshield and the cowl has thinned with age. This makes the windshield tilt back more so that the edge of the top does not meet the windshield any more. You can get a new gasket or build up your existing gasket with some rubber inner tube or something similar. The latches are adjustable as I recall. If you take off the lower catch, the holes are slotted so you can move the catch up and down some. The adjustment is not very precise, but there is some latitude there.

    The brand new top was flat across the curved edge where it meets the windshield. If it bows out now, it's because of the workout it got while it was installed. In your situation, I'd just do the best I could to flatten it out as I installed it. Maybe if you start from the center and work to the edges it will end up flat.

    Sell what new? There is no source for the hinges AFAIK other than an old top or to make them.

    Thanks Tim. Does anyone know the Angle of the windshield hinge base in relation to the Vertical post(hole)?
    Going to put a wtb add after this post for someone that has these to use what they have as a reference(so that everything is correct) and make a set out of stainless using there equipment(1/8" break and such).

    Have any of you had success in installing the A L Hansen cab locks? My existing handles and latches work well but my interior locks don't work.
