Too loose, too tight or won't stay latched?

Are they stiff and won't move, or don't stay "hooked"? Remember the hooks (on the dash) are adjustable to allow for better latching. Howard, ya beat me to it..................

    thanks
    i wish mine adjusted
i see the notches on the plate.
but there are only two bolt holes.
    so it is either installed.
    or not.
so unless i am missing something here.
    no adjusting possible

The dash holes are supposed to be elongated so the latches will slide up & down.

AA sells some nice ones (******* has them on his)... Put them on the list for the 'Super Slug'.

Does AA still set their kit? I have some for a flattie but cant find where they still make them. Only for CJ5's maybe or both???? I was going to look into machining another set if I couldnt find them.

dash is slotted, cant see it without removing the latch. you should be able to loosen up the two screws and slide it up or down. mine is too loose, and is tightened up as far as it will go. may be time for a new cowl seal.

FWIW there is a plate on the back side, does not have slots. the pretty much sandwitch the dash. and if you take both screws out it will fall out

Mine kept popping loose when 4-wheeling (maybe because of the crappy aftermarket windshield frame flexing?) so I made a set myself. Not as pretty as the AA ones but just cost a few bucks at Ace Hardware.

here are mine Bill they have a plate behind the dash 1/4" if i remember. your dash should have slots so you can adjust them up or down.

How's the rubber gasket between your windshield frame and the cowl? If that thing's in poor shape I doubt you'll ever get the latches adjusted enough to hold. If it's missing, you're hosed.
