F-134 exhaust system upgrade

I have done a search on the site and find a lot of exhaust information related to some of the V6's in later jeeps, but not a bunch specific to the F 134.
Initially I planned to just take it in to the local muffler shop and tell them to put a nice exhaust system on it to maximize performance and give it a quiet but yet kinda cool sound. I found out that they shut their doors. So now...

I am planning to upgrade my exhaust system, by gently grinding out the manifold to smooth it a bit, and then going to 2" mandrel bent pipe and weld the exhaust myself. Any suggestions on a muffler for a quiet yet cool sound on the F-134?

I am not a 20 year old kid anymore, but I don't mind a little bit of throaty sound.

I run a cherry bomb turbo on my f head and it's still quiet..........lol

 

I didn't like the 2" on mine
lost some low end grunt

the full throated roar of my 72hp popcorn popper...

 

an exhaust upgrade on these old motors is like tricking out your lawn tractor...

use it, love it, appreciate it for what it is and it will never let you down.

 

For the novelty factor, NO....

But why?

 

Sorry I don't understand why it's funny to try and get the most out of your stock engine.

 

:iagree: had 2 inch put on mine and didnt like it at all, didnt like the sound, or the peformance. chopped up what i could use out of the new exaust and put it on my chevy. then went with the stock setup. and for what its worth, 50 feet away you can hear a conversation between two people over the jeep, now thats quite
