I've got a 67 CJ5 with a Borg Warner overdrive transfer case. the numbers on the tag are 33 V6 ser# 1196602. I don't know if it is stock or not. I'm an old mechanic new to Jeeps. I would appreciate any info.

33V6 is a Warn model number. The Borg Warner bolts on the rear output of the transfer case, while the Warn, Husky, and Saturn bolt on to the PTO port.

x2 What Patrick said. BW overdrives were used on tcases in RWD ONLY! Never owned one, they were removed from other 2WD transmisions and grafted onto FWD tcases-don't know which ones. OTH, Warn overdrives would only work on Dana 18 tcases in 2 and 4WD, effectively splitting each gear, including reverse. I've owned three, great units and I have one in my CJ6. Google "Herm the overdrive guy" for a wealth of info on overdrives.

You can find more info on the Borg Warner or the PTO style (Warn/Husky/Saturn) at www.hermtheoverdriveguy.com. You can also find more info on the Borg-Warner by googling Borg-Warner R10 overdrive.
