Clocking the Dana 18 t-case

    Anyhow Dummy,
    Were you able to fab up a shifter to where you could use all the gears? Did it hit the dash?

    it can get too close... grinding the corner off worked for me (D300 on a T-18 )

    How about clocking the trans towards the driver side? Might be a little easier, just watch out for the clutch linkage.
    Rotate the trans and redrill the bell housing.

    The original post said a t-18. My t-98-pretty much the same case- is already as low as the tc so I don't see any benefit to clocking. Just tell the wife you need to buy taller tires.R)

    Chuck, that looks fantastic ...

    What "clocking" did the Novak kit give you?

    Did you buy a kit for that hyd clutch or fab it all yourself?

    Where did you get that clutch arm?

    Looks like the easiest way to do that job is pull the engine and everything and put it all back in as one unit?

    Not much in the way of clocking - with the size of the SM465 the tranny sits much lower than the Tcase.

    I started with Novak's Clutch Kit and the parts that came with AA'a Bell Housing the adaped to the SM465 (needed another BH, so just got me one already fit to the SM465) - some fab work on my end to make it all come together.

    The clutch arm was one I had around here, but I believe it is the same length/throw as what you get with the Novak Hydro Kit.

    Having everything together and hanging on the hoist with a tranny jack on the back made it easy to fit with all the tweeking that gets done. A tip that I learned along time ago (and then saw Stacy uses it on GearZ) is to use tacks with turnbuckles on the corners and where your going to hook things. This lets you make small adjustments without moving the other end of what your working on.
