I'm waiting on a new wheelhouse from classic ent. I cut the old one out and also found alot of rust on the fender. It has been cut out and repaired with new steel. Still debating on going the 6 route... pics when I get the new steel.

Hey 2manytoys, I gotta ask, what color is that paint? I love that color. I would love to use that color when I paint my tub. It looks like the Semi-gloss olive drab. Am I correct guys?

And while we are takling about paint, etc,,, what kind of treatment did you do to the wheels? Powdercoated or some kind of paint & what color. I love them,, great contrast to the color of the body,,, I'd do the roll cage the same color as well.

The paint is Rustoleum Army Green spray paint from home debot. The wheels are painted with a high temp semi gloss black- might even be some type of wheel paint from the auto parts store. I will check. The paint turned out great for being a spray can job.

    x2 on the color!

I've been playing around with some of Rustoleum's spray can paint on some old hoods that I have laying around. :iagree: with 2manytoys! I've never painted in my life, and I was amazed how good the finish looked. I'm not sure on how long it will last, but I'm willing to find out for the difference in money, compared to taking it in to a bodyshop.

I tried "Hunter Green", "Safety Blue", and "Safety Orange", but I like the Army Green color the best!

The best way to use the spray cans is to find the tips off of some higher dollar spray cans, the ones with the fan tip, and reuse them on the rustoleum cans. I used the tips off of some Bobcat brand touch up paint. Also some of the rustoleum cans have them to, but not Army Green. I think it was the automotive or professional grade rustoleum. Just clean them when done and reuse.

Mine has been on there for 2 years and is holding up well. But it is inside most of the time. When I was grinding the tub with my wire wheel, everything came off but some of the original mint green/blue was harder to remove. just for thought.

I got my new fenderwell from Classic Ent. It has a warp on the top that should be okay to fix and the rear top lip is dented/bent over. Is this normal? The box has no dents so they has to package it that way. Also the front of the fender where it lays over the c-channel, by the toolbox, is not pre bent and will need to be. Other then that it looks great. I will get that fender on and then remove the tub and fix the floor on the drivers side.

How were you able to "find" those more expensive tips? Is there a source any where else for them that you may know of? Also did you use any primer before you put on the final color?

My fender wells from Classic Ent were just like that. The warp comes out once they are mounted, and I too had to bend the piece by the toolbox. I am very happy with how they turned out. They do require a bit if a hammer and dolly as they have been handled before boxing. I also replaced my hat channels, rear valence, center support and bed. It has all turned out very nice.

any paint job is only as good as the prep clean and dry and sanded and sanded edges are THE MOST important...if it dosent stick to the edge it will peel off with the proper prep even brushed paint is a decent finish. 600 grit finish sanding is good for spray cans 400 will work for brushed. old paint well sanded is a good primer and any bare metal must be primed....

There is 2 body mounts that look strange to me. Is this the way they are from the factory? They mount to the top of the frame rail in front of the rear shock. see pic[IMG][/IMG]

I dont know why the camara is crappy. I will get some better pics.

The idea of stretching this into a 6 is not going to happen. I want this done by this spring! I also can't decide on a color. I'm leaning towards Alice Chalmers Orange, maybe even a renegade stripe, and bedliner inside. Does anyone know if you can paint over the bedliner so the inside will match the outside? I also need to know if POR-15 is as good as I have read. I plan on doing the frame and underside of tub with this or something like it.
