Alright guys, so looking for some help/advice/theorys here... I recently picked up a 69 CJ5 with the 225 v6. The engine ran, but ran poorly, so, i yanked the Rochester carb and rebuilt it - now, it runs great. idles well, runs nice. BUT i have run into a problem.... when i run the jeep long enough to get it all warmed up nice, and i shut it off, it just doesnt want to fire back up - wants to crank and crank and crank.

At first, i thought maybe it was a fuel delivery issue - so i replaced the inline filter (above the fuel pump) and checked.... its getting plenty of fuel.

Then, i thought that maybe it was getting too much fuel, so i closed the mixture screws way down... i just cant get it to fire right back up...im getting confused... any ideas?

Heat soak? causing the fuel to boil/evaporate out of the carb?

Or a stuck or too high float, causing it to flood.

Hmm, I will tear into it again, and check the float levels - i set it to what the Haynes manual said, but there may be an issue there....

As far as heat soak, i dont think thats the issue, but i can check that too... thanks for the ideas guys :D
