Original Jack?

  1. Hey any idea that an original jack looks like for a 1964?
    Dont know what year is what, are they all the same?
    Have any photos of one THANKSdead horse

    71's came with more " modern" jacks then in the link above. Mine is the A1240 like above, but it came from the factory paintedR)R)

    Interesting, my '71 parts manual lists the 1240 as the right piece. I was actually a bit surprised at that.
    Actually, I just check the '72 manaul, it lists the 1240 as the jack as well-



    14.138-1 JACK
    81/87 A 1240

    14.138-2 SPRING, Jack Hold Down
    87 2 936 132

    14.138-3 WRENCH, Wheel Nut
    635517


    14.138-4 PUMP, Tire
    647 862


    81 refers to CJs, 87 is Commandos

    Maybe they changed the jack style but kept the same P/N ?

    I've pulled a lot of Jeeps home and never seen a factory jack. So that's what they look like.

    I was just joking about mine being more modern.:) In the filmqueen article they said they were not painted. Mine is. I am pretty sure mine is the 1240, but somewhere along the line they must have started painting them from the factory.:beer:
