I know your project will work out so don't get discouraged by the two piles o' Jeeps.

considering sandblast/powdercoat for the frame....it's so clean I'll probably just paint it
When I power washed I tried to avoid spraying directly into the knuckles/back of brake plates, axles from the M38A1 go back in to this rig

Yea I tore the M38 down no qualms, but it was with some trepidation that I layed the first wrench to the 6

    motor/trans/tc/axles out....rolled axles under the M38 frame....power washed the 6 frame.
Gonna start modifying frame now, gas tank is 1/2" shy of fitting between bumper and first rear cross member...easy fix. Gotta remove old motor mounts and battery box (carefully) and start fab'ing new mounts for the small block.
Long weekend is coming at the right time:)

After three hours in 90 plus degrees w/ a sawsall,grinder/drill/cold chisel and big freaking hammer I was able to cleanly remove both rear cross members w/ v-brace, both f-head motor mounts w/ battery support, and the clutch bracket rivited/welded to the frame. Still need to remove front cross member/grill support:(
this is the pile of flat and rounded rivits removed so far....

block prepped and painted. I was given a Offenhauser 4 bl alum intake, it along w/ the finned alum valve covers and alum bellhousing are in being blasted.
I've got the motor mounts/ps mount/box frame sections ready, gonna line everything up this weekend and weld it up. Hopefully next week I'll be able to paint frame and start putting it back together:)

Worked today on engine placement. Leveled the frame, mounted bellhousing and intake, mounted motor mounts, placed motor. I leveled to the intake, both front to back and side to side. I need to weld up the mounts now, then work on the PS mounting and cross member for radiator/grill.
It's coming, once the welding is done I'll paint the frame and start putting it back together:)

PS mount per Mcgruffs drawings....boxed frame both sides, bushings inbetween frame and box, support from back side frame to mount plate. I moved my mount position back a bit from the drawings. My welding ability is iffy, but grinding a bit will hide some sin:)

I think your welds look pretty good. I borrowed my buddies wire welder had a blast got nice beads going looking good then I ran out of gas. Struggled with purging it welds looked terrible. Next i ran out of wire and and got the tension a little too tight on the feed mech. Stuggled with boogers and popping. Finally figured it out the day I had to give it back. Go figure.

Anyway, that really looks good. I ran a bracket from a 72-75 and used a flat plate to mimic the frame cross member. I am getting some flex in the box and frame. Have you bolted everything up yet and does yours flex or for that matter anyone elses?

That's going to be a cool ride. I like the block color you used.
