weird decals...1971 cj5

i have kinda brought this up before (a long time ago) and i have already poseted my serial number info and such in the other thread..

here's what i have.... on my dash there is a large jeep corp sticker that states the following:
Supply Arm or Service Maintenance Vehicle
then it lists the following:
- vehicles serial number
- veh. weight
- payload
- gross weight
- tire inflation specs
- date of delivery
- min octane rating
- which oil to use above and below 32 degs.

then on the fire wall i have a sticker that says:
Jeep corp
special sales order no. GS-6095

im assuming this was a govt serv vehicle hence the GS number

then my paint code sticker says this

999 334

i cant find that code anywhere
i guess my question is, any ideas on how i can find out what this was used for orig. and what the trim/paint code numbers mean? I now the 999 meant special color, but i cant find the trim code number anywhere.

i didnt see 71' listed in that file... maybe i missed it, but its not listed under any other year

build date feb 1971
that info was posted in the vin thread already

I didn't see it in the VIN document either, we are likely missing some information. A quick google search found this:

indicating charcoal color.

334 = charcoal (black vinyl)

regarding 999 paint, the sevice bulletin referred to would have to be located which would then decipher the color (then again, maybe not if factory serial number records are MIA)

Interesting that it is listed as a Commando trim number rather than a Universal trim number in the charts you posted Jim. I only included the Universal trim codes in the VIN document, I guess I probably should have included them all.

I don't think you can go by the model designated in the chart
heck the front seats are the same seats if I recall
hence the crossover I believe

I have the same thing on my 1970 CJ6> It was a ex border patrol jeep.
It has nothing stamped in the sercice. When you said sticker I was thinking a decal not a brass plate. Dirty as yours have not cleaned it up yet.
