CJ6 color - something bright

I'm thinking of picking up a `66 CJ6 to restore, and I would like to paint it something wild that would stand out. Seeing as these jeeps aren't very common and it will probably stand out anyway, I figure why not have it REALLY stand out. I could go with an original color as well, but I'd like some suggestions of wild colors you have seen before, or something you think would look good on an old girl.

    Thanks.

I'm a big fan of just about any shade of red. Always a head turner, and ECJs always look good red (black windshield of course).

    mb82 I feel great!

Spruce Tip Green with the same for a windshield. It is an original color but a very cool color of green.

Got a link to that color?

How about something different from your normal Window 16-bit colors like red, green, yellow, blue? :) Something that would stand out?

(possibly the spruce green, have to see it first. :))

I'm going 60's era Ford Rangoon red at some point.

I also like the Prairie Gold.

I'm not sure what the future availability of the STC CJ6 tops will be, but if I didn't already have an almost new black TigerTop I'd be looking at a white STC top. Visually the white really jumps and looks great over a color like Champagne Gold.

Glenn's CJ-5 and CJ-3B are spruce tip green. Check his profile.

    Personally, I like orange.

I still like the light blue color of jpflat2a's rig, which is shown in the new calender.

Thanks for all the replies people, really appreciated. I started thinking the jeep in the calendar was one of those "Where's Waldo" things as I couldn't find the picture in the thread, but then I woke up and used the search button.

Does anyone have a link to jeep in 1970 "Plum Purple"? I saw this colour in an ad up north here in Canada on a 1970's Kaiser, but haven't been able to find it yet on a jeep, only the colour swatch from the colour libraries. I'd really like to see it on a Jeep again.

Thanks again - looks like another great, friendly site full of experienced and helpful people. :)

Damm, that was quick!!! Thanks. :)

(BTW, just in case the spelling police are out there, "colour" is the way most of us up here spell it, as opposed to "color" like our southern neighbors - not wrong, just different. :) )

I have to say that after checking out Mike's webpage, I am really starting to like this colour:

Is that an original colour, as it seems to be on quite a few of the jeeps posted on the "Other CJ6s" page.

Oh and I'm originally from up north (Indiana) and we never spelled color that way, just where are you from? (in my best southern drawl) Cause you surely my good man, ain't from around heeeere. (God I can't count how many times I've heard that)

Sorry, profile is fixed. I'm up in the Great White North, where it is currently about 20 degrees Celcius out - on the OTHER side of the thermometer. I need to have this guy as my smilie, without the question marks. ---> :?

Understated. That thing would have been in my garage when you posted it for sale last summer had I not just bought my '70 a few weeks prior.
