Swinging Pedals

    I am looking for pics and info on how folks mounted their swinging pedals (under dash and firewall). I am trying to decide between modifying CJ ones or getting a Wilwood setup. This is for the 3A and I don't have alot of firewall to work with. I have done it on 5's just never a flattie.

    Any other options for hydro clutch - break setups welcome as well. I have even thought about changing the floor to use Wilwoods floor mount pedals.

    I used a swinging pedal set, brake booster and hydro clutch setup from an '84 XJ...also used the go pedal as well...fits in better than I figured it would.

    I also installed a complete powerbooster/MC/pedal assembly from a downsize Cherokee XJ. Very easy, and cheap if you can find one being parted out. I modded my brake pedal similar to Boyink. Here is a pic before it was finished:

    It also looks like it would be an easy mod to install a hydraulic clutch if you get all the parts together. Grab everything (valves, fittings, brake switch, etc.).

    i used willwood pedals. expensive but worth it. i got a plate from speedway motors that mounts th pedals.it was like 14 bucks.i just cut the firewall till the master cylinders would clear then welded the plate around the edges. heres a pic.

    ehauff - It looks like your install is to the outside of the steering column for both pedals - how does that work for you?

    Did you leave the pedals the stock length - please post the model numbers if you don't mind.

    All I can do is send email photos and I need an E-address to do that. I tried to send them to you but runnamuck doesn't get it. I also need an Apple iphoto class to learn how to post.

    Internet is fun but it really cuts into my free time for wrenching on my Willys. Having two that I'm heavily modifing really is time consuming.

    I got them from jegs. There part number is 950-340-3950. They are aluminum pedals with a 6:25 to 1 ratio. They are actullay about perfect on the length. Havnt driven with them but they are close together but cant change that. They leave alot of room in the engine compartment. Little pricey at 173$ but worth it.

    I am going to pull this stuff together and get it posted on my website - it's supposed to be ready for me to start work on this weekend.

    I'll put a link and folks contributions for referal. This is just one piece of my 'fall / winter' projects.
