Got a set of main bearings from Kaiser Willys. Called first and was assured they were quality name brand. They showed up shrink wrapped with no box or company ID on the bearing. Upon trying to install them the dowell pins in the block and caps did not line up with the holes in the bearings so a little filing solved that problem.
After installing them #2 and #3 were very tight. I guess you get what you pay for.
What bearings has anyone used with no problems? Looking at these 3.

I'd go with some NOS military parts, such as the Fomoco set may be?

Just my own inclination - YMMV.

I was already leaning in that direction, just needed a little nudge.

Got the new bearings and they fit nice. Now the the rear main seal causes the crankshaft to be tight. I tried to use the rope seal and the neoprene seal. Both pretty much lock the engine when you tighten the cap down. Aaargh!

Without the seal it turns freely. Guess I'll order the seal.
