  1. I am getting ready to put my M38A1 on the road. What type on insurance is everyone using. Not the company.

I use Hagerty. Works well for me and a membership in the MVPA gives you a small discount.

I have Hagerty too. Didn't know I could get a discount though, I'll have to look into that.

I know you said you aren't interested in provider, but I have State Farm on all my jeeps. They provide full coverage on the J2000 and the 2a, for each they asked me what I valued them at and I pay based on that.

    You need agreed value insurance.
I supply pictures of the Jeeps in the garage, give them a value and pay the insurance by the year.

    This.
I recently switched over to State Farm, the agent told me they “partnered” (whatever that means) with Hagerty and as you said, you pay for the value you state. Very reasonable.

Legalized gambling and it's certainly rigged for the house to win.. I despise insurance of any kind. I get that it's a necessary evil but I still despise it as a business overall.

Has anyone ever had to file a claim with Hagerty? There are many negative reviews about this.

I've heard too many tales of woe about State Farm to ever go down that road. All is rosy until it is time to collect and then good luck. Maybe Hagerty is in the same boat. Gamble indeed. We pay our premiums with the expectation that the company will actually pay when we do have an accident and maybe they will-after you waste more money on an attorney. I'm going to need to visit all this again soon with my 3B.

.. OK maniacal conspiracy theory rant on.. After the twin hurricanes crossed Florida recently, my renewal rate went up 140%.. Yeah, 140%.. And I have NEVER made a claim and this is in a brand new house mid state.. Thieving so and so's.. I changed companies of course but they gave me the song and dance.. Oh, it's inflation, it's this and that.. BS, they got caught having to pay out to all their coastal policy holders and didn't have the capital to do it so pass the cost to everyone so as not to cut into their profit margin.. It's Socialized legal gambling now haha.. I wonder how much insurance company lobbying money went into the aether to pass mandated auto insurance laws? Don't even get me started on medical.. OK, I'll go put my possum shell foil lined hat back on and go to my corner now..
