Does anyone have pictures of the stock throttle linkage and the brackets that it mounts to on the engine?

My throttle linkage comes off the firewall. I’ll snap a pic as soon as I can.

Here are some pics I saved off the site(don’t remember from who) I’m trying to find but will probably have to fab the proper bracket coming off the Rochester.

Perfect. So there's no bracket mounted to the carb or manifold but rather a link that goes to the lever on the firewall.

Here’s another angle that might help

I seem to be missing the bracket the throttle rod attaches too.
What is the round pot on the spring bracket on the manifold?

that is a “Dash Pot”. Mine is broken but from my opinion they aren’t needed.

here’s a diagram out of my service manual. I can try to get you a part number out of my parts book if you’re interested.

My CJ never had the dashpot, but my Commando does. Why?

The Dash pot is just another form of a emissions control. Prevents the throttle from snapping closed to quickly.

My CJ was sold new in California, the JC was sold in Colorado. Why less emissions equipment for California?

1970 was when all the AMC changes started happening. I would think they would use up older engine inventory first. Maybe your CJ got an older engine from inventory than the commando? California was not as nuts back then anyway. Reagan was Governor if that tells you anything. Just spit balling here.
