i'm looking at the Jeep universal manual l downloaded and it's calling for the main bearing caps to be torqued from 35-40. That seems low to me since it's the same spec listed for the con rod caps.

Everywhere i've been looking online calls for 65-75 foot pounds for the main bearing caps.

can anyone confirm which one is correct please?
    thanks

Was that a Factory (Jeep) manual? Or a generic such as Haynes?

    You need a better manual.
