So I figured what the heck. Ordered 1/8" waterproof board. Had to buy a minimum of 4 so I have enough to make close to 30 of these to sell. I bought an original on Ebay for a template

    I tried to buy one...

I don't think the date is right on the thread...

There was a guy at the Pomona Auto Swap Meet that would make one and had quite a few different ones for other cars. But that was a long time ago...

Where are you going to get the metal pieces? I use to know of a company that had all that stuff. I may have a catalog. Long time ago...

So John, I've been burned before. But I liked your decal...

If the goal is original looks this works, however the super sized plastic one that’s available is tough to beat.

So the first one came out decent. shape is correct. My only issue is getting the cardboard scored well enough at the bends that it doesn't fray like the photo. This one is glued, staples are just for originality. Don't give up on me still exploring but this one is going in my jeep

    Looking good John.

Would heat soften it any for bending? Also wonder if you took a shallow V cut on the inside of the bend to relieve it a bit; being a little thinner might allow it to bend without cracking.

I was thinking a pizza cutter however if u look at the originals on Ebay the bends are all frayed like mine

Could you steam heat the area of the bend? Moisture from the steam along with the heat may relax the material enough to prevent fraying.

If steam doesn't help with bending maybe just a heat gun would help?
