I have a solex and, after checking by a pro, knowing the old systems, it works perfectly, summer or winter.
Winter I need the choke during some minutes.
I had heard many things about the solex, in fact if well cleaned and parts in good condition, it is a good carburator.

I read somewhere that the Solex isn't made any more. Those look identical so......who knows, maybe it's made better?

Solex isn't made anymore? I noticed the price is up, maybe that's why? They still have them at Walck's. It's Payday and Carb is next on my list.

That's what I read, but I didn't check into it deeper.

I have run several of these repop carbs. Never had any problems with them. I am realistic though about just how well any F head will run regardless of the condition.

In the description it even says solex design. Wonder if crown bought the tooling if glenn is right

I was wondering the same thing, looks identical to me.

I am also one of the few, the proud, the Solex carb fans.

My 65 ran excellent when I popped it on.

A google search for solex carbs has adds stating reproduction, original no longer available. Some say made in Brasil.

Thanks for all the replys. I placed the order for an original Solex from Walck's. I don't want to be the first to find out the new ones are a problem! If this is the last of them I guess someone will have to take the plunge soon!
