Today I got the new timing chain dampers on. For the spring I just used a small socket to pop it on. Pc of cake.

Put the intake manifold on next. Easy to place the gasket by putting the 4 bolts in loose then sliding the gasket in.

    Torqued to 50lbs

I'm almost done but still need a fuel pump eccentric which is not looking good right now

Well well look what came today after 5 weeks

Not sure how much the original faded but looks too dark and too green. I'm going to use it at this point but still waiting for fuel pump eccentric

Both your water pump and paint sample look to be a far amount darker than either of my V6's. Not that it will make you any happier but it also looks darker than the original paint on my '53 Buick motor. I understand that monitors don't show colors as accurately as a person may want. From this end, it looks like the same color a friend painted his mountain home.

I'm going to spray a sample tomorrow. "Mountain home" ? That hurts

He likes green, his JKUR is that glow in the dark green. They just sold the "Mountain Home". It was appraised at 1.2 Million.

Spraying it definitely changed the color a bit. With all the different shades these dauntless engines came in I'm happy with it. I'm sure the original color on my water pump is not exact due to age anyway

I ordered one from cars inc. They told me a week. After a month I called them and they told me only one company reproduces them and it's at least a 2 month wait. Used one's without wear almost don't exist

John, not sure if it was mentioned.

I picked up an eccentric from TA performance they had new and in stock. This was a little over a year. Shipped real quick, might give them a call see if they have in stock.

I called them first. They get them from the same supplier. They had none in stock and a 2 to 3 month wait.

Some progress to report, I rebuilt the carb. It was pretty easy to do and saved me $ 300.00 to send it out

Cam eccentric, distributer gear and cam button

I used permatex 2 on both sides of the timing chain cover gasket

Put some chassis grease on the eccentric for start up
