FJ starter conversion

    I read a lot of threads on this but did not see anything stating difference between direct drive and offset gear reduction obviously I want the reduction but will it still fit the same ? Also did anyone do this , if so workout ok??Hints/tips?

    Not sure if an offset unit woudl fit. All i can say is the LC unit I put on was a bolt in fitment.

    Why do you want a reduction starter? Other than you really like to spend lots of money I mean.

    Ok I got a reductions starter from USA industries it cost $100 including the $20 core charge I didn't want to give my original back... With the osgr it fit perfectly and I had MORE room to instal than the original absolutely no modifications to anything but the ign wire ( needed spade connector) turns amazing and fires very quick by far the best upgrade this old whore has ever seen !!! Took like 15-20mins for the instal and I solder my connections.

    Because they offer more torque than a non-reduction starter.
