Family CJ6 Project

Ok, I am officially old. The BFGs are back on for camper duty and I drove it, enjoying the quietude and just hearing the fan noise above my quiet single exhaust and dead silent engine.
Yeah, the older you get the quieter and smother you want your ride.

Well, so much for the BFGs on 6 inch rims. I am going to just accept the loud Swampers. The BFGs at very specific speeds and hitting a pothole just right, got death wobble. Steering, bushings, everything tight. Probably the 10.5 radial tires on 6 inch rim. I put the swampers back on and balanced them. Maybe loud, but they track straight and no driveability issues.

Ok, so I have had a Jegs heater sitting on the top of the toolbox for over a year. I guess I will install it now that winter is almost over..

Got it located, drilled, primed and painted the holes, installed fiber washers and sleeves on the studs (to isolate the steel heater from the aluminum body) and dum dum around the heater core nipples (keep out the engine bay smells). I need to go to the barn tomorrow and dig around for a heater valve and some hose.

Man, I sure wish the pictures worked in the older posts for this thread.

You are right mate, the cj6 is great to tow with and it handles off road just that little bit better as well.

We took ours on a 1600 KM (1000 mile) road trip early last month and it didn't miss a beat.

Got the canvas top done on mine.
Managed to make one that is full cover and folds down to become a bikini style.
