1970 Jeep Rebuild

I also connected my parking brake. I welded the shock mounts on, but didn’t get any pics.
Still need to pull cover to paint, then install and fill with gear oil and put back on the tires and should be ready for test run. This thing hasn’t moved since the 26th on June when I winched it into the garage with the rear end locked up.

I did start/cause a new project.
You can see my bump stops are located above the rear u-bolts and towards the back of the axle. I also raised the brake lines to top of axle so they were gonna interfere. I’m gonna move the bump stops forward 2-1/2”. The bump stop spacers were temporary about 5 years ago and ugly.

You can see that the bump stops sit at rear of axle.

The bolts are in welded nuts inside the boxed frame so I’m gonna use these holes because I don’t want to drill anymore holes.

More info on the brakes please, and is it doable on a 44?
The 60 already had the disc brake set up, it is after market brackets with the thicker 1-1/8” rotors and looked like a gm caliper, I switched these out for the Cadillac calipers I was running on my Dana 44. It’s very doable on the rear Dana 44, I bought bolt on caliper mounts from Jeepsterman and used 1-1/8” disc rotors and 80 Cadillac calipers. I’ll take some pictures tomorrow.:

Thanks!

This was my old set up for my bump stops. They need to slide forward 2”. They are ugly and just a 2x2 piece of square stock.

I started with some 14 gauge sheet metal I had laying around. Cut out 4 pieces that matched the curve of the frame on one side and flat on the other side. I added some “speed holes “because they are cool, also allows me to bolt these to the frame.
