Where To Find Parts

1" tubing would work.

Originals in good shape are getting scarce, but they do show up from time to time on Ebay, Facebook market, and the forums but they are usually priced high.

I saw a Jeep where the two brackets had been replaced with a square heavy wall tube going all the way across with supports in the middle. I liked the modification and intend to do something similar with mine. I think I saw that on this forum.

Anyone have 60's seat brackets available? If not, can someone tell me what size the tubing OD size is and I'll make a set?

Not cheap, but Somar 4x4 has reproductions of the original style brackets: https://somarmotor.com/product/front-bracket-seat-for-65-71-jeep-cj5-amp-cj6-pair/

They also have reproductions of the original style seats for less than it costs to upholster old ones: https://somarmotor.com/product/set-...in-oem-black-jeep-for-55-79-jeep-cj5-cj3-cj2/

I have not seen either in person so can't comment on the quality.

This helps me soo much. I have been searching for seats for a while. Thanks!

I would be interested in drawings or sketches from the original soft-top hardware and door frames for a 1965 CJ5 so I could fabricate my own. I don't like the rusted steel top thats on mine.

I have been trying to find a boot for this shifter. The one we took off was just a piece of rubber roofing with a metal ring. IMG_1114.jpeg
