Big bore 2CG manifold

Per my earlier post, I went back to the scrap yard to recover the small base 2CG in the Skylark and the exhaust manifold. Much to my surprise the carb was a large base model. Will the large base intake from the 1976 Buick Skylark 231 odd-fire fit my Dauntless 225? It all looks the same except for an added EGR valve base cast into the intake. The EGR is easily by-passed, I'm only wondering if ports will align with the 225 heads, or if there is some other anomaly that would prevent the swap.

There's no advantage, keep it simple. The only thing you want off that OF 231 is the hei distributor and possibly the exhaust manifolds.

The small bore 2GC is for what the stock 225 is designed, USE IT!!!

I disagree with both the these statements.
While I don't have your answer, I can attest to the V6 being able to take more carburetion.

The base size doesn't have much influence on cfm. It's the venturis, there are multiple applications within each bore. A stock small bore 2gc flows close to 300cfm. Plenty for a relatively stock 225.
Even with aftermarket cam, intake, headers jetting changes are usually sufficient. The relatively small valves in these engines is always the limiting factor.
