I've read a lot about the travel limiter but I'm not sure what attaches to this. Is it some sort of factory steering stabilizer?

I'm wondering if people generally remove it.

Thanks

That axle is likely out of a Jeepster / Commando.
The bracket is for the factory track-bar, a.k.a. pan-hard rod. It had a horizontal bar that attached from it to a companion mount on the frame to limit the side to side movement of the axle.

EDIT, added pictures:

Thanks! I couldn't find any info on it. I'm going to cut it off.
Don't cut it off yet. That might be a good asset to your steering set up. Do you have the companion mount and the rod for the frame? If you do decide to remove it I would be interested in buying it and any associated hardware and mounts you have.

I don't know what to look for as far as the companion mount. I definitely don't have the rod in the picture ozfin provided. Where on the frame does the rod attach?

Do you still have access to the doner vehicle?

This is what the frame bracket looks like, this was actually a good system in stock form. I now have a 4"lift, Dana 30 and extended bump stop brackets so I need to do some fabrication before I can re-install it. I was more interested in driving the J/C after several years of doing a resto-mod so it got left off at the time.

I was guessing something like that attached to the bottom of the frame /rail, approximately over the axle .

I think this might be what it attached to. It's on the passenger side forward of the front axle.

Edit: I don't see and parts in the boxes that looks like they would attach. Maybe this isn't what this is for. Seems like it would need to be on the driver's side.

That is not likely it. It would be on the left(drivers side). on the underside of the rail, just like the photo Oz Fin posted above.

I have nothing resembling that on my frame. I don't see any remnants of one that might have been cut off either. I don't have any additional hardware.
