1941 Ford GP Value?

Any slat grille Jeep is collectible.
As Howard mentioned, it looks like a pre-GPW body, like the Ford WWII prototypes.
This comes from a completely different world from the CJ-5.
Suggest you post it on www.G503.com and see what they say.
If it's not gone and not a fortune, I'd just buy it on spec.

It sold. It was listed for 5k. Several people made offers and then backed out so I got a weird vibe and low balled too hard.

Now I feel the overwhelming weight of my stupidity and have a deep sense of regret so if someone on here is the lucky new owner, I would love to stay in touch in case you ever decide to part ways with it

Yeah, full-floater, but different from the MB/GPW?
Look at the Ford Pygmy and Ford GP pictures here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willys_MB#Gallery
Suspect the GP pieces were worth the asking price, even though it's on another chassis.
This was before the US official entry in the war.
Most of the BRC, GP and MA production went overseas on lend lease as I recall - gone, used up in warfare.
Of these three, the GPs were the most plentiful that remained in the USA, and there were only 1000 (?) of those.

There were a few GPs built with 4 wheel steering, I believe that is what's pictured above. Also, the GP used a drives side drop for the tcase and both diffs.

I always suspected the change to the rear full floating axle hubs was just to save time and money. The early prototypes just used the same hubs front and rear. Making the drive flange part of the axle saved some manufacturing costs, assembly time, and may have been stronger.

I don’t even think 5 grand, if that’s what it sold for is all that bad..
Yea. Chances of finding another one at that money are pretty slim. But it would be a huge undertaking to restore it to its' original condition. Just finding the correct parts would likely take years if you could even find them at all. And at what cost.

My original post about it being worth nothing in that light is one I still kind of stick to because of your point. At the same time, 5 grand seems reasonable. .. so what the heck do you do with it?

Sell it on to a WWII vehicle museum, restoration company, or a wealthy collector? If you can find one that needs that exact tub. But that demographic may be aging out.

But that demographic may be aging out.
As I age, I am a relic too. I still have a teenage son and the things that were important to know, like who Admiral Halsey or MacArthur or the French and Indian war or why the Oregon in Havana or who the Roughriders were, American Imperialism related to any of these things are utterly lost...

All these people and events and ideas are related to this Ford GP, the idea of it and the men who would use it and maybe read a Heinlein book....

It's why the Jeep brand is so loved, it embodies the can do spirit, the resourcefulness and the guts to get the job done. I can go on about what has happened, but I would offend everyone..

Anyway, I hope whoever bought this has fun with it. Im happy I didn't get that opportunity.

Had friends in the MV hobby that sold rusted out Script Jeeps for a pretty penny just for that reason. The cost of restoration.
At that price, make it run with generic parts and enjoy it. Collect.parts as you can and enjoy it.
If you keep it out of the elements. It goes up in value. Just enjoy it and save the history.

This seems to be lost or gone from the majority of the newer generation of Americans too. I am overjoyed when I meet a younger person who still has any of the qualities mentioned. It gives me hope for the future. But I digress. Back to the jeep.....dip the whole thing in a vat of OD and try to get it running and driving.

I've owned 6 GPs and can tell you that if you did t already have a rusty GO with a good drivetrain this would have indeed been a money pit. That said if you needed a body it was a hell of a deal...depending on how hacked it was to fit the CJ chassis

You guys are not making it easy on me telling me it was a good deal

The new owner appears to be a member of g503 but I’m having technical difficulties trying to track him down. Don’t have private messaging rights.
