69 JC parking brake cable routing

Anyone have photos of how the parking brake cable is routed to the lever on the crossmember. I think mine is incorrect and I can’t figure out where one of the cable mounts runs. Thanks.

It is bolted to the top of the trans cross brace

My e brake goes to the rear drums. I think it looks like it should go here, but the exhaust pipe is in the way.

Here are a couple of other photos. Is that the correct mounting location and which side of the exhaust pipe does it run?

Mine is on the bottom of the crossmember, on the angled part. No idea if that's correct but it works.

I spoke to Sam at PartsDude, and he sent me a photo today confirming that under the crossmember is the correct routing. Now that the routing is solved, I need to get the cable to move through the housing. Is cleaning the original cable/housing the correct move, or am I better off replacing it?

I bought a new one from him. It's blue, as you can see but it fits and works good.

I’m soaking it in diesel overnight to see what happens. I’m not optimistic!
