Dauntless fuel pump

The mechanical fuel pump on my Dauntless started spraying fuel out the vent port on the front so I guess I need to replace it. Has anyone had recent experience with this part? I'm wondering which brand to go with. RockAuto lists a few. My Jeep is a '67 and it has the 3 port fuel pump.

I have a Buick 231 V6, and I use a mechanical fuel pump from the local auto parts store. I also carry a spare fuel pump from the local auto parts store in case I have a failure on the trail, same for a coil and pickup for the HEI ignition.

You might check on eBay for “NOS 225 v6 fuel pump”, and see if any are available at a decent price - particularly the original AC Delco (or if not, other NOS Made-In-USA) 3-port fuel pumps.

In my experience, the new ones currently available from auto parts stores these days are often of poor quality, and don’t hold up very long.

I agree. The parts Sam sells are generally far superior to those from the typical local auto parts store - and he does stand behind them.

Thanks for the suggestion, I ordered one of those.
I did think about looking for a NOS one somewhere but I was concerned the diaphragm on anything that old might not last long once it started being used

I noticed the fuel pressure on the last one I bought was high I added a regulator and that fixed it. I prefer to stay under 5 psi. Stay with the three port setup with the return line. Don't be tempted to switch to a two port.
