I’m going to buy either an M100 or M146 for my 67 CJ5. I’m leaning toward the M100, but I’d also like to tow it behind my camper van occasionally. I read that the M100 doesn’t behave as well at speed compared with the M416. Any experiences with these at speed?

It will not be distinguishable based on model. Individual trailer condition and loading will affect it more than a few inches in width. The hubs are different but the spindles and bearings are the same. You can put jeep wheels on the m416 using jeep lug nuts and functionally everything will be the same.

You can take a dana 25 spare wheel and hub assembly and put it on either trailer.

That said. My flex pulled the m416 on the interstate with a load of IKEA boxes in kansas city on 30yr old tires at the speed of the KC fast lane.

FWIW... My former M-416 towed the same as my current BT3-C either loaded or unloaded. Wish I still had the 416, but the tailgate on the Bantam was the difference for me. Since I was unwilling to cut the unmolested 416 tub, it was moved down the road.
