Trying to find a source for a 200 degree on, 185 off fan switch for my jeep. I’ve bought 4 now, and NONE of them work. SPAL doesn’t make one in this range—unfortunately. Most of these switches are junk! I may just go back to the 195-175 SPAL switch I had.

thats the one i use....its way better than the 185-165 switch, but I'd be interested in a 205-185 switch.....there is this 215-190 spal switch that is unclear if its adjustable in anyway, but it sort of indicates it might be?
Thanks. That’s just too high a range.
Tons of them on summit. Painless makes a nice one that I use.
I think I’m just going to go back to my spal 195-175. I can’t believe nothing is available.

I bought 4 on summit. All were the wrong range, or they wouldn’t shut off. Put my Spal back in, and it’s spot on. Really?

Don't use those hot rod parts. They don't last under duty cycle. I use heavy duty diesel temp switches. 5years + no issues. Ideally your fans should run above thermostat. Running down the road at speed in good tune your fans shouldn't kick on. Under load, crawling etc you want your fans to kick on when normal cycling / draft across radiator isn't sufficient. On 5-10° above thermostat and off on 8-10° drop. Several people miffed about my ability to crawl on Rubicon etc and not get above 170°

That helps a lot! Thank you. I can’t find at what temperature the switch opens again after closing at 195.

I tried a number of these switches, and settled on the one below at 195/210 degrees on my Buick 231. I also wired in an override switch so I can turn the fan on manually, and run a 14” 5 blade manual flex fan without a shroud. The electric fan has yet to come on since installing this switch last fall. Summer may be a different pattern.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! After trying 4 different thermal switches from auto suppliers, I used the switch that Rich M suggested above. Very beefy thermal switch that worked PERFECTLY! On at 195, off at 185–spot on! My fan doesn’t run continuously and the range is perfect for a 180 degree thermostat. I will probably buy another as spare.
