Retail stores don’t seem to stock bearings like they once did. I don’t care to order five bearings from seven different sources. Where do you source your wheel, axle, transmission, and transfer case bearings from? Looking for a good place to purchase high quality bearings. Thank you in advance.

I would give Sam a try, he can get anything, and knows all the jeep numbers. For a 4 speed, you might need to go with someone like Novak for a rebuild kit, but if you know the numbers he can probably get it. You could ask what brand if you are concerned, don't call him until Monday, he's at KOH.

I still have a semi local bearing supply house that will get me what I need and I know they won't be counterfeit. I also have one reliable parts store that sometimes has good pieces. They had king pin bearings and races on the shelf that were still in the OLD Timken boxes and very dusty. But yea, look for a reputable local supply house if possible. If you have a place in town that rebuilds large....LARGE...electric motors....like for sewer pump stations.....they might be able to turn you onto the local place.

X2 on rockauto. Always check Amazon though as many times they will be cheaper. I pretty much only buy Timken bearings now. Any supply house will be about twice the price now.

If I need them quickly I get them local. Good chance they have what I want in stock, worst case a day away.

If I can wait a week I've been buying some through Rock Auto. Can get very good prices on timkin, ect.

I will NOT buy bearings through Amazon or eBay. Too big of chance of getting counterfeit junk. Buy through a known supplier

Shaun, I suggest NOS Timken bearings on eBay. Yes, hunting takes a while, but that's half the fun (if you're not in a hurry). You can't beat the fitment. I usually buy double of such things for spares....Pete

When they are in Timken boxes stamped Timken, there is probably a 99.99 percent chance they are real.

Maybe so. I've gotten a couple questionable things that were sold by Amazon. I lost any trust in them.

There is a lot of talk of counterfeit car parts.
