Help picking new wheels.

So, my cheap steal wheels are pretty trashed after the last rubicon trip and its time to replace them. Looks like there aren't many options for 5x5.5 lug 15x8 wheels. These are the ones im looking at but still haven't decided. Im leaning towards the Micky Thompson but i know ill chew the up on the rocks. Any recommendations or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Personally I’d go with the steelies. Maybe throw some paint on the spokes with a rattle can to make it “fancy”. Jeeps are unique in that, IMO, they look cool with just about any color of wheel. Perhaps orange spokes on a black rim? Or gray and black?

I think that since you have a Rubicon proven rig, it should look like one. I know we all want to keep things looking as nice as possible, but some rock rash shows where you've been. I am looking at my beadlock rings, they aren't scratched, they show some good times.

But I understand wanting new wheels, the good news is it's a great time for new tires. For wheels, I would look at the Racelines. they have a lot of good looking options, in beadlocks, or not.

I bought brand new tires before last years trip. I dont mind rock rash but one wheel unfortunately got a section of the lip smashed in and let a really sharp edge. I really want the MT wheel with the fake bead lock for more durability but they dont make it in a 15 in wheel for some reason

If it was me, I would be looking at steel rims from Bassett or Aero. They each have a variety of finishes/colors along with offsets to your liking in the 15 x 8 size. Beadlocks also if you want them.

I have read some talk about bending and welding a steel round into the lip at the edge of the rim. Sounds like it would take a lot of abuse.

I kind of like these rally wheels and Summit has them for $71/ea: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/vsw-55-5885

These Bassets are $96 and built tough, but need special lug nuts with a different bevel angle: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/bsw-d58dj4

The $72 old fashioned "Soft 8s" look decent on old Jeeps too: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/vsw-85h5885ns

Other than these cheap steel wheels, the M/Ts look pretty nice.
I would go with the steel rally wheels .

I’m not a fan of steel wheels, too much work to keep them looking nice. I even tried aluminum wheels with steel rock rings, but I had to remove the rings every year and repaint. Just too much work.

Moab doesn’t seem to damage wheels like the Rubicon, as my 47 has been to Moab a number of times and no damage. However, I scratch up aluminum wheels on my JK pretty good on the Rubicon, so if my aluminum wheels on the 47 get all scratched up on the Rubicon this year, I will wear the scratches as a badge of honor and not have to deal with repainting them…
