60/40 bench seat questions value?

So what is a 60/40 bench seat value? I haven't seen one for sale so...

In a 60/40 seat , the 40 part is the passenger seat?

Is it the same as a standard passenger seat

So if I'm pulling this off of a jeep. What parts should I get? Presumably all of the parts but what in particular is rare.

Any advice on pulling a bench seat out of a jeep?

Thanks

Happy new year

Does that look like original seat covers?

I have one in my '67. Value would vary with condition, but I sold one in VG condition for I think $400 a few years ago. The 40 is the passenger, and the same size as a normal bucket, it just doesn't have the inner side bolster, so it looks like 1 piece all the way across. That does look original to me. Keep in mind these went through several generations of jeeps, roughly from the 50's to the '70's so the style could change. If you find one mounted you can pull, get everything you can, they don't share hardware with buckets. Mine actually has a driver side slider, which is cool, but I never use it. Also, there are 2 thicknesses, my brother has one that has very thick bottoms, and we think actual springs, and is very bouncy. That is why I removed the one from my '65 tux. Felt like it was going to eject me, and the early ones like that did not have side bolsters, so you felt like you would just slide out. The one I kept is from the 70's, and is much thinner and has side bolsters. I really liked it when my kids were little and I had a center seat belt. Now my lab likes it there between me and my wife.

The green seat you have pictured looks like what was used in the early ‘64/‘65 column-shift Tuxedo Park. Correct shape, stitch pattern on the calf-grain upholstery, and green color (should be in a Sylvan (pale) Green Tux). That seat should have coil springs, and if in a Tux, will have a slider on the drivers side. The lever should be right by the fuel filler.
The passenger side is not exactly the same as a regular bucket seat. It is also a “fold and tumble” style, and just lifts off its hinges in the tilted position.
The seat is somewhat rare, but only desirable to the restorer of those 2 years of the Tuxedo Park. I have 2 or 3 sets, so not that rare.
I see the drivers seat mount just above the piston, but no slider attached.

Value +/_?

Value +/_?
maybe clean the pistons and drivetrain components off and take better pics that show the quality of of the entire seats if you are looking for a value. i don't see any value from the images you posted.

The value of a set of 60/40 seats is very subjective. I hate to see questions like “how rare” and “how valuable” because that implies someone is trying to monetize what they have with a quick “flip” to make a buck. This forum is a resource for old Jeeps, helping each other restore, rebuild, and enjoy these vehicles.
Condition and completeness is everything. Are the mounting frames included, including the ones in the rear bed? Is the slider present? What condition are the coil springs in, and are the joining springs usable?
I have a very nice set in an original Tux, another set from my family original Tux that needs upholstery and several springs replaced, and another very nice set I bought from a forum member for around $80? I remember shipping (via FastenAll) was a little more than the purchase price. I have several more partial pieces of sets to use for parts. Mounts and sliders are hard to find, as are the coil assemblies that are usable.
The seats I focus on are the Tuxedo Park version used in ‘64/‘65, one of the more common versions due to most Tuxes being equipped with them. The Tux used the “bench” seat because it was column shifted with no interference of a cane levers (including transfer case shifters). There were earlier 60/40 seats dating back into the 1950’s, and ‘66-up versions with molded foam with bolstered ends. All versions are different depending on vintage. Good foam seats are probably the hardest to find (most rare?) because the foam breaks down and deteriorates, plus this was not a common option on the later Kaiser and AMC Jeeps.
From what I see in your photos, my value might be $40-$60 depending on whats there. I don’t even see the passenger seat. They look more like parts. Being loaded with a pile of heavy parts, they are likely in poor condition. Shipping also is a factor because they are bulky/heavy, affecting the overall cost. Someone can use the seats pictured for parts, but I’ll leave the value to the few who have interest in them.
