Spruce Tip Green & Empire Blue Early CJ photo request

T.M.

Rubicon or bust!
I'm once again trying to figure out if my CJ5-A Tux Park is Spruce Tip Green or Empire Blue. As far as I can tell the paint is original. I believe it to be Spruce Tip, but pulling the firewall tag revealed some very Empire Blue-looking paint.

Does anyone have vintage or new pictures of CJs in Spruce Tip Green and Empire Blue that they can post up so I can compare? I get very mixed results from google when I search for the colors.

Though somewhat similar, the Spruce tip is definitely green, and the Empire blue is medium/light blue. Empire blue was a popular color in 1966, including mine (at least originally).

The old 64 CJ5 was President's Red. Thinking about Spruce Tip Green when it is finished.
I do love that Green!
That Empire Blue is sharp also.

I'm still not quite sure. It looks a little too blue to be Spruce Tip but a little too green to be Empire Blue. Maybe it was resprayed at some point, but if it was then it was painted a long time ago the painter did an extremely good job getting into every nook and cranny with the new paint.

Here's the firewall behind the data plate, the firewall just above where the upper trans tunnel cover would be, and the underside of the cowl, respectively:
(Note that the fenders and firewall have some remains of black paint; I think that a PO painted the engine bay black at some point but used crappy paint as most of it is gone now. I'm not sure if it could have changed the color of the original paint, but the firewall around the transmission tunnel [2nd pic] does look much more green than the rest of the Jeep.)

The 1st picture looks Empire blue, the others not so much.
I have a spruce tip green 64. I prefer the blue.
I do too, but im biased. The 2 Empire Blue Jeeps I posted above are the Jeeps I grew up in 4 wheeling during the 70s and 80's. My dd still owns the 69.

Maybe color code 477, Island blue?

That was the original color for mine. Here is a very old pic.

The first picture in post #10 of the upper drivers side firewall cleanly shows Empire Blue where the serial tag is missing. The underside of the inside dash looks pretty close too.
