70 & 71 is the sweet spot for them. Factory Saginaw steering, better suspension, flanged D44 rear axle.

Yeah...don't like the front end on the C104s..looks too much like a 70s Cheby.
This one will get cleaned up, new brakes, new tires, change all fluids then go from there & drive it!

I rescued a '71 from a friend that has been modified with a front cj frame and clip, would rather have the stock stuff but that's long gone.

CJ hood and grill is a pretty common swap (better visibility) but I can't imagine why you'd put a CJ frame under it.

He grafted the front 1/3rd ish of an intermediate cj frame on so he could fit the cj front clip, he wanted to put a buick 455ci motor in it.

It's been repainted at some time. In the right front quarter view you can see a patch of the original yellow showing thru. Plan is to repaint with either the original color or the "Solar Yellow" like Connie's '04 TJ. ( she REALLY likes bright yellows).
