Interior Light Wiring

My 69 has a really cool dome light mounted on the hard top that doesn't work because the wire 12v wire stops at what would be the B pillar if hard tops had B pillars. I thought it would be cool to pull a wire that went from the circuit breaker to a switch then along side the tail light bundle which runs in a compartment under the door then up the "B pillar" and over to the light, but I am having a hard time fishing a line next to the tail light bundle. I am using the same fish tape I use for my house, which may be the problem, but part of the problem is that there are some funny angles I can't follow.

Is this the right approach, or do I run it up the A pillar and along the top? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I was thinking about my hard top the other day. Since i got the fast back from grant I have not had the hard top on but i was thinking about it with Mike's roof rack light wiring post ...

I would run a heavy bonded pair with a 20amp breaker to the base of the b pillar. Then a two pole connector and up the top to a switchbox /fuse box then to your dome light, rotating beacon, strobe, landing lights, and navigation lights.

I was able to run the wire through the cowl (where the tail light bundle goes) up the B pillar to a 2 pin connector, up the B pillar, along the groove at the ceiling, and through the channel to the light. It is pretty clean with very little exposed wiring.

So the whole circuit is
30 A circuit breaker - 16 ga wire - inline 3A fuse - 16 ga wire - SPST switch - 16 ga wire - connector in B pillar - 18 ga wire - bulb socket - bulb - bulb socket base - 18 ga wire - connector in B pillar - 16 ga wire - ground site on dashboard.

I used a 3A fuse because it is a small bulb and I might change to an LED.

I used 18 ga wire past the connector because I was able to run it through small holes in the hard top.
