I believe a '70 Jeepster has the same column as a contemporary Wagoneer, maybe with different length.
The first year for the GM locking/collapsing column in the Wagoneers was 1973.
The '72-73 Commandos got the locking GM column, IIRC.
This is from the '72 TSM.
I recall from my parts store days, the cancel cam repair kits were only offered by the aftermarket.
From the OEM, you'd get the whole column harness and plastic cam/actuator, and not a part to repair the actuator.
I also recall that the posts on the Ford actuator break off, and that's what stops the signals from cancelling.
Chevy has little arms that break off?

You can see the posts that break off.
I searched the Wagoneer forums and did not find any posts that address this topic in this era.
There are many more Jeep vehicles surviving with the later locking column.
Kinda think you need to take the wheel off and look at the switch.
You might be able to match it to a contemporary Ford or Chevy part.
If you search, pictures of many different repair kits come up, like this Chevy part from Dorman.
