1968 Cj5 Project

No excuses. Get out to the shop and work!
That's what I told myself until I ran out of flappy disk material.

I'll get back to this, but there is a good portion done now.
Before and during. Not an after shot, still need some smoothing and filling done. But progress is progress.

Next step Start at 220 then go to 320. Then prime with high build and 400. Then its ready for paint. Not likely this year, but if weather holds out, I'd like to sand/prime this year

Coolant day. Figure it snowed 8" last night and it's blizzard like conditions out, May as well head to town.

Pickup up a 1/2"npt to 5/8" 90° heater hose fitting, 4' of new heater hose and a 1.5" Dia flex hose to replace the upper.

P.O. necked down a 2" hose to 1.5" using hose clamps.

For the heater hose fitting it was a necked down adapter to a crudely bent smooth tube.

No wonder both leaked

Went to the paint store a month or so ago, wife bought a small sample of paint in a new color she wants the whole jeep to be.
been waiting for weather to cooperate for painting.
I'm slightly confused now. She don't like the blue it is but her sample is darned near identical. I used it to cover the black primer panels I welded in.

I think she's playing you, but that looks like it'll be an easy paintjob! "Yeah honey, it took me all day in the garage to paint it"

Bought new tires today.

33x12.50xR15.

Turns out they are too wide for stock wheels, so I'm on the hunt for wheels. Wife is sooooper happy.

Again, it's cheaper to buy a built, rust free jeep than build one from a rusty heap you found cheap

Parts jeep for the save. Like the jelly of the month club. It's the gift that keeps on giving. Dropped these off today.

aint that the truth.... I cringe to think what I "could" have bought for what I have in the one I got.... But then again, I know what I got now too....

Im lovin your exhaust being up nice and high, and not having to go under the rail, and outboard as I had to do.... but, when you got a bunch of stuff in the way, your choices are limited....
