The ceramic coating will help with the temps and the new turbo plus cam are supposed to reduce exhaust gas temps. Steel pistons would the the balance way out, plus I'm not getting that crazy.

yeah, and im not sure i'd want steel ones on a parent bore block. liners are real easy to replace, boring a block can get dicey.

It runs! And better than the old engine ever did! Now I have to finish it up and take it for a test drive.

Took it for a test run today! What a difference! It doesn't belch black smoke when I stomp on it and the egt's are about 300 degrees cooler too when pulling hill. Can't wait to see how it does towing my camper.

I went to the fair today to get my camper out of winter storage. Pulled it back effortlessly!
