What Did You Do To Your Jeep Today?

Test drove a 64 with OD end PTO winch. Bungie cord held the PD shifter in place. Guess he drove it like that for years. Glad it brought you home. My Jeeps fail, but still get me home. Electricians here today. Had to get the 64 out of the shop. Lots of laps today getting ready for Spring.
Hope you can fix it pretty easily. Jeep drive weather is coming. April 18th is the Denton Military Vehicle Show, getting ready.

I've also wondered if you couldn't tig weld up the voids in the aluminum ones to strengthen them significantly. It would probably warp them all to heck in the process though.

Finally got the drums off the 66. Fought with the hub puller, stripped 1/2 dozen lugnuts. Screw this. Knocked in the wheel studs, just enough to get past the swaged portion. Popped the drums off. Pulled studs back in, widened out the stud holes, so I can reinstall drums as needed without fighting. Replaced all the wheel cylinders. Now have new shoes in, get to install those.

Humm, another one of my wild and Dangerous thoughts! Am I correct that the synchronizer assembly in the OD Is the same as what in in a T-90? If so I wonder if the shift fork from a T-90 second and third gear sychro might be modified to work in the OD.

Wow! Thats a thought
I installed this OD in about 2015 and it has roughly 15k on it.

Had the electrical work done on the shop, upped the power. 64 A1 had to be out for room for them to work. Filled up the Jeep and took we took it for a ride. Talked to the construction guys about the Jeep getting a chance to practice my Spanish. Then a few laps around the neighborhood and into the new sites being built. Met up with then neighbors walking and ended up giving rides. Probably about 3 to 4 hours run time. Man, that was fun. Still running a little rich and a little cold natured at first, but then it ran great. A great day!
