Front Disc Brake Tutorial

Switching to organic pads will make a big difference.

My 1971 cj5 has the R&P 4wd disc brake kit on it. I was told that the fronts are the same as a 1975 Chevy K5 blazer 1/2 ton. The rear discs are from a S10 blazer 1/4 ton. I would like to put organic pads all the way around, however I can only find them for the fronts. Anyone with a part number would be greatly appreciated.

No grinding Necessary. Its a bolt on application. I've done two so far. parts are easy to get. and the disc brakes work great. I run 16inch stock wheels, no clearance issues.

D154 from O'Reilly are the ones for the S10 quarter ton kit

I'm curious how it worked for you....I just got a new MC , am thinking my old one may be original and bypassing or something....I have the front end apart now replacing ball joints and axle u joints, but hopefully get it back together in a week or so and then will change the MC,,,,

Master cylinder swap went well aside from a pedal arm clearance issue and a push rod length issue. I'm running the stepped bore as Fireball describes with the 7/8" bore to the front ("FRONT" cast on port) then I have an adjustable proportioning valve and the 2lb residual pressure valves. One of the old residual valves i installed originally with the disks had a split duckbill and was replaced.
