Thought I'd share today's project. I've had the York compressor installed since last year, but I was too lazy to install the rest of the system. I bought all the components over that time and finally decided that today was the day.

I bought most of the little stuff from either local suppliers or online at Amazon. The little air tank I bought on eBay last year, I think I remember it being a gallon size. Not a lot for sure, but seems to be enough to keep up some pressure, especially with the large size York that I have.

    Some pics...

Like I said, the compressor has been installed for awhile:

The tank is on the passenger size immediately behind the D20 Tfer case. I built a mount for the frame rail and the "soft" stuff like the filter are up high enough and so close to the Tfer case that I think it will be in good shape there:

One of the connections, this one is on the driver side. I plan on putting one on the passenger side as well:

And of course command central with the switch and gauge from inside the cab:

The cool thing is I didn't drill any new holes. I built the tank mount so that it fit by some existing frame holes, and the crimped end of the Goodyear hose that I bought fit into one of the existing holes perfectly...just tight enough to keep the connector snug. I keep all the soft stuff near the tank because of heat concerns under the hood.

I have a switch wired in that starts the compressor at about 85lbs and kicks off at 105 with a pressure relief valve installed of 125. The York is amazingly fast at filling the tank and keeping up pressure.

That looks pretty nice! I set up on board air on my YJ, but then decided I wanted to keep the CO2 I was using. Then I sold the Jeep anyway. It's a great idea for a CJ5 though what with space being at a premium.
