Well, I put that one on my brothers jeep, and it's defintely better than the other thing! I thought maybe there's a flat plate of sorts that might be more "permanent"

Another fine mess I'm getting myself into! lol I feel I've gotten the paint n body work down, so that part should be a snap, I Think it's just this jeep is a little more technical; fuel injection n all~ but that's why there are forums~ right!! ;)

A buddies 71 CJ-5 that was stationed as a civilian ish jeep somewhere in the pacific islands has a plate that replaces the windshield latches. I think it was factory. It LOOKS factory. What you seek exists, but is probably nearly impossible to locate. Should just be a matter of bending a flat plate appropriately, and drilling a few holes.

Still kind of depressed about that '92 jeep:( I should have low balled the guy on the spot; say 2500! :mad:you know what didn't help; I didn't sleep very well last night thinking about what I was going to do with it:cry:

Well, I at least put the rear fender flares on~ they look neat and they must be factory?

I used the same brackets as I did on Robo's jeep to set the dash up~
    [IMG]

That's about the size of my day

I couldn't resist test fitting the fenders~ plus I can now see where I want to mount the dual brake fluid reservoir;) It's only held by a few bolts and the bumper is just resting on the frame.

Amazing how big/little the engine is~

Ok, enough for today~ hope everyone is having a remarkable weekend;)

Beautiful build, Dne! May I ask where you found those fender flares? I’m looking for something similar for my 67 and everything I’ve found that looks factory has the space for the side marker lights in the front.

Thank you so much! The fender flares were already on it, they look to be factory, but I've never seen them before. They're made out of fiberglass. I've searched, but never come up with anything like them. They are pretty unique!

That's such a good point, and I tell myself to slow down as there is no hurry. Thank you for reminding me;)

    Got a little bit done today;

I finished the sound deadner/insulation, very difficult; I wanted to be able to remove the panels/ have access to the screws. It's good, but not perfect. Also the carpet has a fair amount of juke? padding. I used velcro to hold the carpet in place. I think that's much better than the snaps idea.

Almost finished with the bumper, made brackets out of 1/4 angle iron, worked pretty well. I do have a little more to do, but I can get to that soon enough.

I dropped off my steel wheels to be blasted, but blasting only, I'll epoxy them, paint when I get them back. one of the wheels isn't as wide as the other 4, thought maybe to use that one as a spare tire?

other: going to transfer the titles  so easy to put that off.

I like carpets in a Jeep. I used to have the snap-in carpets in my Jeeps and put a couple of layers of extra padding under them. Very nice on bare feet. Cool, quiet.

Carpets are nice but don't leave it out in the rain with the top down otherwise all those holes in your floor will be back :(

Was that carpet a kit? I feel like most of the ones I've seen have been for cj7's. I'll have to look around and see if they offer it in a nutmeg color.

    The jeep is looking great!

Thanks guys, and don't worry Howard, my jeep will never see rain;)

It may not be the most luxurious carpet, but I think it's ok;)
