I agree with homersdog, you don't want one from '76 on. However....big however, it will fit. It will just be leaned back further than the pre '75, and not look "right".

Let's see what I got done today.
Almost finished the steering(base of steering column to gear) forgot to take a pic!:(

Finished the carburetor, carb paint by Eastwood, went on nicely. Carb kit of course, filter
    [IMG]

argh, forgot to order a pcv valve and hose:(
    [IMG]

I haven't gotten around to sourcing a breather which goes to the valve cover and obviously haven't "restored" the air cleaner. There's another large hose/pipe coming off the back of the air cleaner, same size as in the pic here, I haven't a clue as to where that goes  I thought about just blocking it off.

Tomorrow I may install the fuel tank to get the fuel lines (main line and return) ran, of course only to take it all back out again
    [IMG]

Bought some 20 gauge sheet metal from Ebay, comes in 9" x 6" sheets , I used my air nibbler to cut it out. It's the top piece just above the steering column. I have a steering column to floor mount coming soon and start tidying this up.

I'm thinking mind you, I could bolt the tub down with a few bolts, get the jeep ready for travel to my muffler man maybe next week. I said "I'm thinkin". I have a winch to pull the "jeep" onto the trailer, then could back up to the 4 post lift at the muffler shop , it's the start of a plan :watch:

Thank you Uncle Vin! Thank you for checking in on me :D . I'm just taking a break from it and working on my garage, and other things. I've been working on some awnings for the front of my garage (I'll post pics soon)~ I should be able to get back on the jeep next week if all goes according to plan (y)

Looking very good. All I seem to be doing is buying parts. :banghead: By chance, did you leave the ceramic gas filter in the carb? Many of us remove them and the spring and simply run a external NON-GLASS filter. Old school guys did this saying it increased carb performance ???? BUT I like doing so simply because it's a pain in the azz to remove the filter compared to a external one. We actually ran one between the tank and pump and another between pump and carb. Just a thought.

Well Jim, that is a good question about the carburetor filter. In my carb is a brass looking filter. I've never seen a ceramic gas filter. I thought I would put an inline filter where the line comes off the tank? and a cut-off valve. OMG, I know what you're saying about buying parts~ never ends

Could look brass with a spring. Some looked like porous ceramic. Seen soooo many of them plug up and people would strip the threads on the housing that the filter sits in and the large hex head screw in part. Takes a huge wrench 15/16? , 1"? just to get to the filter.

Filter from tank to pump is good. I also put one from pump to carb. Had several fuel pumps go south and plug up carb filter. So I put a external one between pump and carb. cheap insurance. Sucks to have a plugged up carb on the Rubicon!!!

I try very hard to only buy NOS or USA made parts which takes time to track down. Most 4x4 suppliers only offer Omix or Crown parts. There is a darn good source your way.....Mullins Jeep Parts.

Hi guys, I've been busy working on the exterior of my garage. I made the frames for awnings and the covered the frames with waterproof/ canvas material. Was quite a job but enjoyable making my garage look even more awesome.

This is what it looked like before the awning;)

    And now:

The large awning was pretty big, but not crazy heavy~ I temporarily mounted some angle iron up high with pulleys, then Gary n I hoisted the awning up and then I attached it. It's a little different in color, but not terribly noticeable.

I spent quality time with my upholstery machine, I love this thing!!

I promised my oldest daughter that I would make a couple smaller awnings for our grandaughters playhouse~ and have more to make for my garage as well. I'm really enjoying the break from my jeep, but should be getting back to it fairly soon.

I thought of you today Dne, you inspired me to add a bit of color to my dana 30 axles. My housing is all black, but I think it'll be pretty cool to have a pop of green at the yokes!
