Wiring question

    I have a couple of questions. I have a 12 circut mini E-Z wire harness. I am finished running wires to the correct areas of the jeep. I am now ready to start making connections. Here are my questions.

    1) My taillights have only 2 wires, red and black. The light has 2 filiments, running light and brake light. Should the light ground itself to the tub once it is bolted in place? I am assuming that one wire will be running light, and the other will be the brake. Do I need to run a separate ground wire to make this work?

    2) What is an altenator excitor wire? That is what one of the wire is labeled and I am unsure where is should go.

    Yes the light will ground itself, and the excitor wire is the wire to "turn" on the alt. Are you running a GM alt? If so it will hook to the white wire that is part of the 2 prong harness that plugs in to the alt.
