I'm getting ready to install a Mojave 640 after market heater in 67 CJ5 with F134. There is no fuse box on this jeep, only inline fuses and fuse links. The unit came supplied with a 15amp inline fuse holder. The instructions say to run the red wire (provided in kit) from the B terminal on the 3 speed switch to the 15amp fuse holder then continue the red wire from the fuse holder to the fuse panel and a keyed positive source.
Since I don't have a fuse panel, where do I wire to for power?
I was assuming I would wire to the back of the ignition switch but having had experience with "assume", figured I'd better ask first!

Related electrical question: Wiring diagram for this jeep shows a voltage regulator. There is no voltage regulator that I can find. Do I assume (there's that word again!) that the alternator has a regulator built in?

    Thanks guys. Bh

    Pic of the alternator?

I would use a relay and energize it from the ignition switch. Or, these Jeeps came with heaters. Look at the factory wiring diagram for how the factory heater is connected.

For 15 amps I would do as Tim suggests, wire in a relay- your ignition switch will thank you for it :)

The reality is the fan will probably only draw about half that but the sake of a few bucks do the relay. Wire the fuse to to a constant hot source (I'd take it right to the battery) & insert he relay contacts into the power lead, connect the relay coil to whatever is a convenient source of switched power.

Pictures of alternator in media section under Bill 67CJ5.....67 Cj5 Heater file. http://earlycj5.com/xf_cj5/index.php?media/alternator-back.2949/full

sounds like the relay is the way to go. Thanks Tim and Tonka

Tim and Tonka: thanks for your help. Heater is in, running great and putting out plenty of heat. I did wire in a relay. pictures of the install and quick description of the wiring are in the media section under Bill67CJ5 or 67CJ5 heater install.

Tim. The relay solution worked great. She's up and running and putting out the heat.
